Does Hagbad ever hold my money?
No. Hagbad is the record keeper, the reminder and the reputation layer. Money moves wallet to wallet between members — EVC Plus, Zaad, Sahal or eDahab. Hagbad has no account, float or balance in the middle, so there is nothing for Hagbad to hold, and nothing to lose if Hagbad went away.
Is Hagbad halal?
Hagbad charges no interest, lends no money and takes no fees from members’ contributions. A hagbad is the traditional rotating savings circle: each member gives the same fixed share and receives the same total back, exactly once. Hagbad only keeps the record, sends the reminders and remembers who paid on time. A scholar review note will be published before launch, and any future optional product would launch only after that review.
What happens if a member stops paying?
The circle sees it first. The member’s share shows as “Waiting” — never “late” — reminders go out automatically, and the organiser can nudge or record a cash payment. Everything is written to the ledger, and each member’s on-time history follows them into their next circle. Hagbad never moves money to cover a missed share; the circle decides, as it always has.

EVC Plus (Hormuud), Zaad (Telesom), Sahal (Golis) and eDahab (Somtel). Hagbad launches in Somalia, Somaliland and Puntland, and diaspora members join the same circles from wherever they are. The app works in Af-Soomaali and English, on Android 8 and newer and on iOS.
